Welcome to IFaNSA

At IFaNSA, our purpose is to build strategic partnerships that work towards the eradication of poverty, hunger and malnutrition from Africa.

Poverty, Hunger and Malnutrition in Africa

In 2020, approximately 21% (282 million people) of the continent’s population was hungry. Between 2019 and 2020, 46 million Africans went hungry as a result of the pandemic. There is no other region in the world where a greater proportion of the population is food insecure (Fuentes-Nieva, 2022).

Sub-Saharan Africa has the highest rate of undernutrition in the world, with one in every five people going hungry. Conflict, drought, rising food prices, inequity, and poor infrastructure all contribute to hunger in many African communities (Action Against Hunger, 2019).

Our Vision

To build strategic partnerships that strive towards creating a new Africa without poverty, hunger and malnutrition.

Our Mission

IFaNSA seeks to employ training, research, innovation, advocacy and outreach to contribute towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly (SDG 1, SDG 2 and SDG 3) across the continent of Africa.
